Finally It’s Friday: 

A couple of weeks back, when I was in Tokyo for work, Apple Maps thought to notify me that they now supported “transport directions in Japan”. 

So, I decided to give Apple Maps a try when navigating to my hotel in Shinju-ku to a destination in Ginza – which produced directions such as:

I have been in Tokyo often enough to know my way around, so no worries …

… but the irony here, of course, being that pretty much all street signs in Tokyo (and, certainly, in Ginza) have transcriptions of street names into Latin characters, also.
